FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

Sessions are typically a 50 minute clinical hour.

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY?

This is dependent on a number of variables and length of treatment will be determined collaboratively between you and I. That being said, most clients find that they have met their goals and are ready to drop to maintenance phase (meeting once a month or quarter) or are ready to terminate (graduate from therapy) in 30-40 sessions.

HOW OFTEN WILL WE HAVE SESSIONS?

I recommend weekly or every other week sessions though frequency is also something determined collaboratively. Research suggests that meeting less frequently than this is less effective, and ultimately more costly in your time, money, and energy. When sessions occur less frequently, they often end up mostly being a recap of the past several weeks rather than digging into patterns and underlying issues that are the source of the problem which can means clients feel less overall satisfaction with progress and more frustration.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do not accept insurance. Upon request, I am able to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for third party reimbursement.

WHAT ARE YOUR SESSION RATES?

  • 50 minute therapy sessions are $165

  • 60 minute individual clinical supervision sessions are $75

DO YOU OFFER EVENING OR WEEKEND APPOINTMENTS?

Yes! As I primarily work with individuals ages 21-35, school and work schedules are something I am familiar with working around and as such, offer more afternoon, early evening and weekend appointments than the majority of private practitioners.

DO YOU OFFER AN ONLINE OPTION?

Yes. I am able to provide secure, HIPAA compliant teletherapy services for clients who are residents of the state of TN. Whether in person or teletherapy option may be a better fit for you and your presenting concern would be discussed during our consultation call.

WILL I RECEIVE "THERAPY HOMEWORK"?

Most often the answer is yes. I believe that the majority of growth occurs outside of the therapy office when a client implements changes discussed in session or experiments with new skills between sessions so the majority of clients will walk away from each session with a mutually agreed upon goal or task to focus on between sessions.

WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE LOCATED?

I am located in Germantown in the 100 Taylor Arts Collective Building. The building is a cool mixture of creatives and artists. A third Saturday art crawl is even hosted here once a month and is definitely worth checking out. There is a small parking lot for the building, street parking, and a lot behind the building where you can park.
